New Client Lactation Consultation

  • 2 - 3 hours (1.5 - 2 hours for telehealth)

  • Comprehensive history for both parent & infant

  • Focused physical exam for both parent & infant (as needed)

  • Infant weight

  • Observation & assistance with at least one feeding

  • Pump fitting (as needed)

  • Individualized guidance & recommendations related to breastfeeding, postpartum wellness, & newborn care

 

 

Follow-Up Lactation Consultation

  • 1 - 2 hours (1 hour for telehealth)

  • Updated history for both parent & newborn

  • Infant Weight

  • Observation & assistance with at least one feeding

  • Any additional components of the initial visit that are needed to provide comprehensive care.


 

ALL lactation consultations include:

  • A written plan of care with updates for up to 2 weeks (based on recommended follow-up schedule)

  • Specialist referrals & follow-up communication (as needed)

  • Written reports for primary care providers (as needed)

  • Text & phone support for two weeks

Breastfeeding support services are available in your home, our office, or via telehealth.

 

 Postpartum Midwifery Care

Postpartum Dyad Care

  • In-home midwifery care for both birthing parent AND newborn.

  • Available as individual visits or as part of a package.

  • Lactation support is available as an add-on.

Postpartum Care (Birthing Person ONLY)

  • In-home midwifery care for the postpartum birthing person.

  • Available as individual visits or as part of a package.

 

What you can expect :

  • Each visit is a minimum of 1-hour

  • Comprehensive pregnancy, birth, and general history

  • Physical assessment of the client(s), including vital signs & infant weight

  • Assessment of the client’s (and partner’s) acclimation to parenthood, including emotional & mental health assessment

  • Nutritional, sleep/rest, & support assessment

  • Education & guidance to enhance the postpartum period, as needed

  • A written plan of care addressing all of the above areas
